And, yes, I celebrated! I had a party with friends yesterday (Sunday) from noon to 3pm SLT.
While sending out the invitations, I realized about half my friends are no longer in SL. At least, not in those alts. Maybe they've created new ones and moved on. Or maybe they've just moved on, away from SL.
Many couldn't make it because of work or other prior commitments, or they didn't get the invitation on time. But those who made it had a great time!
Shandra (killlashandra.lavendel) lent me her Spot On dance machine, which moves the dancers into different configurations every so often. That was a hit!
Exxx (exxxquisite.magic) DJ'd for the full three hours! With dance hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. That was another hit!
And Wolfgang kept the conversation going with his funny antics. That was a hit too!
The only issue was that I used non-transfer mesh prims on the object-search game that I created to encourage them to explore the sim.
People could still teleport to different parts of the sim. However, most of them decided to stay on the dance floor in the middle of the land dragon at ground level. I told them they could come back later in the day to explore, since the sim would be closed again after midnight SLT for our privacy.
And I saw friends I hadn't seen for a long time!
It was a very heartwarming day. 😊
